Wimberley Rotary History
The guiding principle of Rotary is that those persons dedicated to service when united can achieve great things.

The Rotary Club of Wimberley was started in 1996 and has continued to grow since. Our roster includes representatives of financial institutions, school administration, medical providers, legal and accounting professions, real estate and insurance companies, tourism, interior design, retail merchants, and publications.

The Rotary Club of Wimberley’s largest on-going endeavor is as a benefactor for the arts and area youth. Each April, we sponsor an Art Gala bringing in thousands of dollars for after school programs, theater, music and individual scholarships. We recently installed a Centennial Fountain and Children’s Musical Garden at the EmilyAnn Theater. These are just a few of our many service projects developed to serve those in need and to enrich the lives of those living in the Wimberley area.

Our other local and regional projects include:
  • Deercreek Easter Egg Hunt
  • Adopt-a- Region project in northern Mexico
  • Annual academic and vocational scholarships
  • Emergency Fund Program
  • Interact program at Katherine Anne Porter High School
  • Christmas Party for the boys of Pathfinders
  • Children’s Musical Garden
  • Book donation for the Women’s Shelter
  • Sponsorship of the Arts and our area youth
We also have fun together. We care about one another. We send cards of encouragement, DVDs when someone’s laid up, and food when a member has experienced a loss. We drink some wine, whiskey and Margaritas occasionally. We encourage the participation and inclusion of our families.

If you are interested in learning more about Rotary, you are welcome to join us any Tuesday as our guest for lunch.
